Software QA Engineer

Over 20 years of experience testing complex applications in AGILE software development processes.  My responsibilities covered designing and implementing test plans, test cases and test reports, tracking the test results, and executing test cases.  As a test team event leader I was also responsible for coordinating the hardware configuration and software build delivery to the test bed, in addition to coordinate the test execution of a team of eight testers.  My experience covers manual testing of the applications and their user interfaces, web and java based; creating and executing test scripts.  I also have strong debugging skills to work at the embedded system software development.

 

 

NDI Engineering Navy Contract | Senior Test Engineer01/2013 – 11/2014

·   Conduct integration and test activities of for U.S. Navy Real-Time Mission Critical Command and Control system on multiple platforms including Window O/S and Android.

·   Developed test plans that define the scope, strategy, process, environments and organizations required for the testing.

·   Debug test failures of web services and API with the software development team to identify the root causes.

·   Analyzed and identified problems in test reports for the branch heads to review and provided recommendations for install

·   Coordinated test events and lab environments with infrastructure and configuration management teams.

L3 Communications | Lead Test Engineer11/2004 – 08/2011

·   Participated and provided feedback in software design and development meetings

·   Tested the continuity of disaster recovery, performance and load balancing for the cloud computing network.

·   Performed integration and interoperability testing on the work flow management system virtualization to insure seamless data replication among different platform (HP and Sun) servers.

·   Developed and executed test automation tool QTP and LoadRunner test scripts.

·   Prepared and presented test status, test plans, test cases and test reports to the U.S. Military for Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) compliance.

AT&T Contract | Test Engineer 01/1999 – 09/2004

Customer Network Management Systems

·   Conducted system performance optimization by tuning the execution time of the various processes to handle the large amount of traffic data.

·   Wrote SQL queries to update database records to create the desired scenarios and/or reports for testing of new features. 

·   Analyzed reports generated from the merging of VoIP network topologies and CISCO switch hourly traffic data.

·   Created schedules and authored test cases; tracked progress and issues; and coordinated test environment setups.

·   Worked closely with developers on production issues to perform root cause analysis and problem diagnosis.

Provisioning Systems

·   Performed software quality assurance for LTE Provisioning Systems.  Coordinated feature integration and performed detailed feature testing prior to software deliveries.  Supported end-to-end User Acceptance Testing.

·   Identified issues and provided technical solutions across multiple development teams in a high-pressure environment.

Merlin Legend and Partner PBXs

·   Performed product integration testing of embedded software systems. Actively involved with quality assurance activities which included feature testing and load/performance testing.

·   Performed weekly integration build and acceptance testing for the software group.

Network Management Systems for DEFINITY Switches

·   Designed a graphical application that runs on an industry-standard Network Management System and monitors the health of a DEFINITY switch (PBX) in the Call Center using Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).

·   Worked closely with the field support personnel (Call Center) to design new features and resolve problems.

Network Management Systems for 4ESS Switches (NEMOS)

·   Implemented network management requirements for the 4ESS switches and Network Management Operation System to support the Network Operations Center (NOC).  The development of my requirements provided network managers with the capabilities to control phone calls and collect surveillance data from the AT&T public switched network from one centralized NOC.
